A celebration of the track and field community's commitment to inclusion, recognising outstanding contributions, nominated by athletes, coaches, and organisations, and voted for by the public.
Track and Field Inclusion Awards 2025 are a celebration of the track and field community's commitment to inclusion, nominated by athletes, coaches, and organisations, and voted for by the public. With a number of awards to win spanning athletics clubs, coaching excellence, adaptive sports, community outreach, youth development, diversity initiatives and more, these awards recognise those who are championing inclusivity and accessibility in track and field through dedication, innovation and positive change. The awards are community-founded and publicly voted, combining recognition of excellence with broad community participation. Track and Field Inclusion Awards are a partnership between TAFi, UK Athletics and The Voice Newspaper. Nominations and voting of the Awards Ceremony is open to all members of the track and field community as well as supporters of inclusive athletics.

Athlete of the year
Male
Zharnel Hughes
Double British champion who won both 100m (9.94s) and 200m titles at the 2025 UK Athletics Championships Zharnel Hughes – continued his exceptional sprint dominance on the domestic and international stage.
Charlie Dobson
Following his breakout 2024 season, the 400m specialist continued his strong form in 2025, firmly establishing himself as one of Britain’s fastest quarter-milers.
Seamus Derbyshire
Clocked 48.47s in the 400m hurdles – the sixth-fastest time ever by a UK runner – and represented Team GB at the World Athletics Championships. On his Epic 2025 journey Seamus has been embracing authenticity as a Queer Athlete.
Athlete of the year
Female
Katarina Johnson-Thompson
Claimed dramatic shared bronze medal at World Championships in Tokyo, finishing level on points with American rival after competing as defending world champion.
Morgan Lake
Made history as the first British woman to clear 2 metres in high jump.
Amy Hunt
Won sensational 200m silver at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo with 22.14 seconds, plus claimed 100m British title with personal best 11.02 seconds.
Para-athlete of the year
Male
Aled Davies
Won gold to secure his seventh consecutive world F63 shot put title in a thrilling competition at World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi.
Thomas Young
Secured bronze medal at the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi, winning medals at three consecutive World Championships.
Alfie Shallcross
At just 11, Alfie Shallcross (T20/F20) has made a huge impact in para athletics, hes won 3 golds at the Junior Para Nationals, and placed 1st in U15 long jump and 3rd in 100m at the Junior Para Championships
Para-athlete of the year
Female
Hannah Cockroft
Led British one-two-three sweep in T34 400m gold at World Para Athletics Championships in 2025, won her 19th world title in the 800m with championship record 1:49.88 and remaining unbeaten since 2011.
Bree Cronin
Made her World Championships debut just 12 months after taking up para-athletics, showing remarkable determination after injury left her with broken bones affecting mobility, inspiring others facing adversity.
Fummi Oduwaiye
Competed consistently at World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi, finishing fourth in F44 discus with 37.91m throw, inspiring many after nerve damage and paralysis from routine operation.
Breakthrough young star of the year
Male
Teddy Wilson
European Under-18 100m record holder who represented GB & NI at 2025 Under-20 European Championships, headlining British squad in Finland while inspiring young athletes nationwide with his remarkable progression.
Alfie Shallcross
At just 11, Alfie Shallcross (T20/F20) has made a huge impact in para athletics, hes won 3 golds at the Junior Para Nationals, and placed 1st in U15 long jump and 3rd in 100m at the Junior Para Championships
Rafferty Mirfin
Claimed stunning gold in 800m at Under-20 European Championships in Tampere with blistering 1:48 time, showcasing Yorkshire’s emerging middle-distance talent and proving breakthrough athletes can compete at elite level.
Breakthrough young star of the year
Female
Mabel Akande
Won a silver medal in 100m at the 2025 European Under-20 Championships with 11.41s time, earning her first individual international medal and representing Lincoln Wellington with pride across Europe.
Aliyah Afolabi
Welsh sprinter with fastest UK U17 60m time this year at 7.49 seconds, breaking championship records in 200m while inspiring young athletes through Cardiff Archers and representing Wales with pride.
Alessia Scala
Alessia set a new U15 girls high jump record of 1.75m in 2025 and is the number one ranked athlete in her age group this year.
Coach of the year
TJ Ossai
World and European Masters Champion in 2025, and founder of Be Fit Today Track Academy, passionate about maximising potential in next generation athletes, coaching with Level 2 qualifications while inspiring young people to excel in athletics and life.
Sharon Morris
Senior Athlete Pathway Coordinator for UK Athletics and Level 3 coach at Birchfield Harriers, became first Black female Coach of Year recipient in 2018, shaping careers of national champions while managing GB junior teams.
Paul Moseley
Para athletics specialist with 30+ years coaching experience, recognised in UK Coaching Awards after outstanding year developing world-class para-athletes, serving as England Athletics Coach Education Programme Manager.
